Hope you had as good a time over Christmas & the New Year as we did. We had a break from all things artistic to concentrate on spending time with family and friends.
We’ve now recharged our batteries and are raring to pick up where we left off and kick start the new year with renewed energy and full of enthusiasm for the new artistic challenges that lie ahead – one of which will be our first collaboration. We’ll be working on a mixed medium painting to exhibit at the SEA Exhibition at the Lansdowne Hotel, Eastbourne in May. We’re just finalising the theme at the moment and are excited about painting together for the first time. There will be more news on this in the coming weeks.
Also, coming up next month is a new lino-cutting and printing workshop with Tracey King @ Catalyst Arts. We attended two of her workshops last year and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. That’s where Val got bitten by the lino-cutting bug and went on to produce a number of intricate designs during the year one of which was “Snow Leopard” which she sold copies of in aid of WWF. Val plans to create more lino prints of critically endangered species this year to raise awareness of their rapidly dwindling numbers. Look out for black rhino next.
