Dickensian Afternoon at the Smugglers in Pevensey, on Saturday 5 December, signalled an end to a busy year 1 for rachersoncanvas which included success at the recent SEA Exhibition at Eastbourne Town Hall where the Mayor bought Val’s acrylic ink & gold leaf painting “Seahorses”.

It was good to see so many people turn out at the Smugglers on what was a dry but breezy afternoon and our craft table was one of several that were set up round the car park. Christmas decorations, candles, soft toys, jewellery, cakes, arts & crafts were all on display.  There was plenty for the children to enjoy including face painting, a chance to get on board a fire engine from the local station and a visit to see Father Christmas. There was a good supply of hot drinks and food to keep everyone warm while they wandered round. Morris dancers provided some traditional entertainment and the afternoon was rounded off by Voice Choir singing a collection of favourite Christmas songs & carols.

A great way to finish off an enjoyable event and get us in the Christmas mood.

We’d like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2016 and thank you for your support during this past year.
