Following on from completing my pen & ink drawing of Pevensey Bay in November 2014, I have had the panoramic design printed onto white ceramic mugs.
With a range of different coloured skies, including turquoise, magenta, blue & pink, the mugs are now available to buy at £9.00 each.
I hope people will enjoy drinking from a mug that has original artwork wrapped around it. Pleased to report I have already had my first sales.
I’m planning to produce a series of pen & ink drawings of East Sussex with the next one being of Eastbourne. To help me produce a first draft of the layout, I will be walking along the seafront in the coming weeks taking lots of photographs.
These will help me add the fine details of the buildings. I hope to have it finished in time to enter in this year’s summer exhibitions.
I have also started the year by trying something new and attended a half-day lino printing workshop. Great fun. It sits well with my pen & ink drawings and I’m currently looking through some recent designs to see which could best be made into lino cuts.
Learning a new skill is always a challenge and I’m excited at the prospect of developing this further. I’ll be attending a follow-up workshop in March. Can’t wait!
